Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Congratulations to our Netball team who won both their League games this week against Milby and Park Lane. Keep it up guys, we are proud of you!
The children at Weddington Primary School had discussions with the County Caterers this week, and had the opportunity to present their views on school lunches. Members of the School Council, who represent every year group, thought about their favourite meals and things they would like to see on the menu. Their views were then discussed at a meeting with Liz from the County Caterers and school cook Tammy. During the meeting it was explained to the children that not all their suggestions could be used due to government guidelines on healthy eating, cost implications and awareness of children with food allergies. However, some of the children’s’ ideas, including meals to celebrate different festivals, are being taken back to the people who plan the meals.
Two pupils from Weddington Primary School represented Nuneaton in the Inter District Race at Hartshill Hayes on Wednesday 10th February. Sam (Year 6) and William (Year 5) both ran extremely well. Sam won the race, becoming the district champion and qualifying for the North Warwickshire county trials. William came 12th also qualifying for the North Warwickshire country trials. Their next race is the 1st March.

Bog Baby
L.Q Can I perform a news report and film it using IPADS?
Mrs Sowerby came down to tell us that she saw two blue things in the small trees near the Key Stage 2 quad area but didn’t know what they were. We followed Mrs Sowerby over to Key Stage 2 and took photos of the Bog Babies hiding in the trees.
We felt as this was so exciting, we should share our news with the world so we pretended we were part of the BBC news team. As a class we wrote a script with two news presenters, an interviewer and the part of Mrs Sowerby. We then paractised it in mixed ability groups and then performed it to the rest of the class.
We used iPADS to film the news and then we watched them on the Interactive Whiteboard.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
