Dear Parents/Carers,
The Dfe Covid-19 guideline for schools has recently been updated. There is no longer a requirement to provide a detailed risk assessment for procedures in school but the following guidelines apply:
Guidance remains the same for positive cases, or anyone with symptoms - keep your child at home for 5 days, test on day 5 and day 6 and, if both negative, return to school as long as they do not have a temperature and are feeling well. If positive, continue to test daily until you have two clear days of negative tests.
There is no longer a requirement to isolate close contacts, but we will continue to send out a courtesy email, to let you know there has been a case in your child's class, so that you can be vigilant and shield vulnerable family members.
If you have Covid, and are the only one that can bring your child to school, please telephone the school office on 02476340729 so that we can arrange for you to drop off your child at the front entrance at an agreed time. We also ask that you test your child every day, before bringing them into school each morning, until you are Covid-free.
Face coverings are no longer required throughout the school but staff may still choose to wear one if they prefer. Online meetings are still preferred but visitors, including parents, will be welcomed on site for special occasions and performances. Outside agencies are now allowed more frequent visits e.g. occupational therapists, educational psychologists etc.
The school continues to ensure good ventilation and hygiene in classrooms and we now have eight air filter machines to use around school where cases arise.
From April 1st, 5-11 year olds will be offered vaccinations, but this will not take place in schools.
We expect more changes from April 1st so will keep you updated.
Stay safe everyone
