At Weddington Primary, we seek to provide a curriculum in Art and Design which engages, inspires and challenges all children. Through a programme of study, we encourage creativity and promote visual literacy. Children will experiment and explore with different styles and media to create their own pieces. As they develop their work, the children will participate in rich discussion and dialogue that allow them to develop skills of self-reflection and critical analysis. They will learn about artists and designers (throughout time and in the modern day), their styles, influences and how they have shaped history to impact on the wider world.
The skills will cover aspects of art and design from many different areas including drawing, painting, sculpture and textiles. We will use sketchbooks to allow the children to record their artistic journey from initial ideas through experimentation and analysis to final pieces and reflective thoughts. Children will learn to use techniques and skills with greater control and precision.
Through this subject, how will the children explore the Pathway of Possibilities to visit The Seven Wonders Of Weddy?
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
