Our creative curriculum offers an inclusive cross-curricular approach to learning which promotes and develops art and design alongside all areas of the curriculum.
We aim to offer opportunities which foster the acquisition of knowledge and skills and also enable pupils to apply those skills in a range of purposeful and relevant ways.
Throughout the year, our curriculum drivers: Knowledge of the World, Enterprise, Enquiry and the Arts personalise our curriculum to make it relevant, purposeful and engaging for our pupils.
At Weddington Primary School, Art and design is taught throughout each term. Children will have the opportunity to learn about different artists and designers as well as the chance to use many different materials within their work.
Each year group will learn different skills through drawing, painting or creating something with clay, papier mache or many other different materials.
After school, children are able to have the chance to attend a KS1 or KS2 Art Club where they can continue to learn many different art techniques.
