Welcome to the Weddy Friends website page.
A warm welcome is waiting for anyone who would like to join us in our planning and organising of future events. We welcome new members who can cast a fresh pair of eyes and ears and contribute to different fundraising ideas. All parents and members of the school community are encouraged to get involved, any contribution will be appreciated.
We have an informal meeting approximately every other month where we discuss fundraising events and how to spend the money we have raised for the enrichment of our children’s development at school. A lot of our work is arranging a number of social fundraising events throughout the year. We understand that not everyone wants to join the committee or indeed have the time to, however we welcome any help in any form. This can be in the form of helping run a stall at one of our fairs, providing a raffle prize from your place of work, help with photocopying of our letters, or buying items to support Fairs and Discos (anything purchased is reimbursed).
We like to think that Weddy Friends exists to provide a close link between school and home and is an exceptional way to bring pupils, staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school whilst working towards a common goal.
Over the years, we have raised thousands of pounds which has been put back into the School in various forms.
What we do:
Recently we have given money to the school for:
Angela Williams - Chair | Claire French | Lisa Fry |
Michelle Black - Secretary | Claire Lovick | Jackie McDevitt |
Hannah Bullmore - Secretary | Tiffany Moore | Alison Merry |
Donna Watkins - Treasurer | Lynn Joy |
We are always looking for volunteers to join us. If you can spare a little time please get in touch via e-mail, chair@friendsofWPS.co.uk or via our facebook page:

Year 1 had been learning all about Bog Baby's through Jeanne Willis' Book - The Bog Baby. The children had really enjoyed reading the book and had been out and about trying to look for Bog Babies throughout the School. They had spotted them everywhere! As part of the project, FWPS provided the funding for Jeanne Willis to come in and spend a day with the children so that they could really bring the book to life. It was such a brilliant day and the children, staff, and FWPS helpers really enjoyed it. Here's some pictures of what we all got up to.
Matched Funding
Matched Funding is a brilliant way of raising additional funds for the School through the FWPS events. It works by companies offering to 'match' funds raised by charitable organisations like ours. A wide range of organisations offer Matched Funding and it can make a significant difference to the monies which the FWPS raise for the School. The documents below provide more information:
