Minutes of Meeting: Autumn 1
During our first meeting, we agreed that this years focus would be on fundraising. Money raised will be used to improve the equipment we have available in school.
All of the children came up with so many fantastic ideas that we took a vote. It was decided that our first commitment to our council, the pupils and the school is to run our own stall at the Christmas Fayre.
We will be running a 'bring and buy stall' - children will be asked to have a clear out and to donate any 'working' toys that they no longer have use for. These will then be sold on the stall, raising money for new reading books for Year 1 and Year 2's library.
Keep a look out for updates as the year progresses.
Written by Lola, a Year 5 school councillor.
The school councillors have thought about what we could do to make our pupils feel better about themselves. We decided to create some positive quotes to be displayed around the mirrors in the bathrooms so that if you are feeling sad and lonely you know that the quotes are TRUE. The school councillors are very happy that we have made a difference in the school. So remember that you are special no matter what you look like or what your name is, or if you’re tall or small you are still special. Thank you, by Lola
