With a sprinkle of pixie dust, Weddington Year 6 leavers enchanted audiences with their spectacular production of Disney’s ‘Peter Pan Jnr’, based on the play by J. M. Barrie and the 1953 Disney film. Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and the Darling children escorted family and friends on a magical journey to Neverland to join iconic characters such as: Mr and Mrs Darling, Wendy, Michael and John, the lost boys, fairies, mermaids, Indians, Mr Smee and of course the elegant Captain Hook and his villainous pirate crew. Headteacher, Ms. Vanessa Wardle quoted, “I felt like I was attending a professional west end production London – I couldn’t believe I was in Nuneaton. The Year 6 children are a credit to the school.’ Miss Sally Bilson, Year 6 Teacher and producer commented , ‘This huge Disney production would not have been possible without the phenomenal talent and dedication from the Year 6 children who will be truly missed.
Weddington were extremely lucky to have received a generous donation of wood, screws and hinges from Travis Perkins of Nuneaton in order to help build the extravagant set.
As the children prepare to move on to secondary school, we believe that they will all ‘find their wings’. Congratulations on a stunning performance.
