Years 4 and 5 had a phenomenal time with the green screens today.
By using their awesome North American research, fantastic acting skills, creative flare and green screen equipment, Year 5 were able to entice visitors to some top USA attractions with their tourist information broadcasts.
They began by filming themselves against a green (or blue) screen - notice the different clothing? Once they were happy with their broadcast, they used the green screen app to add backgrounds and various effects to really make their films pop.
Throughout the afternoon, Year 4 had a slightly different green screening experience - instead of filming themselves, they used their inventive creations from yesterday (adding a bit of pizzazz to them) to generate super stop frame animations. Again, they had to select suitable backgrounds for their animations, add effects and of course - think of a story.
Whilst Years 4 and 5 were busy with their green screening, Foundation Stage carried on with their range of exciting activities and began coding their biscuits - did their cookie creations turn out as planned? What problems did they face?
Year 1 have had a totally loopy time finding out more about coding through the use of dance.
Today it was Year 2's turn to try their hand at the 2go challenges on Purple Mash. They needed to apply directional knowledge and coding to solve the challenges at hand. Did they find it easy or hard? How far through the challenges did they manage to get?
Year 3 got to meet a very intelligent piece of stone who has never lost a game of noughts and crosses! Armed with a simple algorithm, the children took on their partners in games of noughts and crosses ... Did anyone manage to beat the algorithm? They looked at the similarities between the instructions they had and the codes they have previously used.
More Egyptian themed fun for Year 6 as they designed and created their very own £D computerised maze game - complete with rewards, obstacles and baddies to escape from (Think 3D Pac Man).
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
