Dear Parent/Carer,
Unfortunately, due to the government regulations for COVID-19, we are unable to hold our highly successful coffee afternoon in what would have been our 12th year.
Despite this sad news, we would still love to raise a substantial amount of money (on behalf of Weddington Primary School) for this wonderful charity that many of us hold close to our hearts.
We would like the children to have a non-uniform day and take part by dressing up in something green or green and white and make a small donation of £1. They will also be given some information about the role of those who work for Macmillan and how this charity gives support to families; this will happen during a PSHE lesson.
This year, we are incredibly excited to announce that our very own Miss James is willing to ‘Brave the Shave’. She has kindly offered to allow us to shave off her hair in order to raise money for Macmillan.
Amazingly, we are offering one child the opportunity to make the first shave of Miss James’ hair (wearing PPE and supported by Miss Bilson). If you would like your child to have the opportunity to take part, please fill in the raffle ticket below and return to school. Each raffle ticket is for one entry at a cost £2.00. If you wish to make more entries, please let your class teacher know.
The much-anticipated event will be zoomed ‘live’ into the children’s classrooms for everybody to enjoy as well as being videoed for Class Dojo.
So, here’s how you can help –
I know that many families will already be well aware of the Macmillan Charity due to personal or family reasons. If you have any concerns that you think we need to be aware of then please speak to your child’s class teacher.
Best wishes,
Mrs. J Kershaw
