Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
At Weddington Primary School, we are proud supporters of Macmillan Cancer Care. Macmillan are a phenomenal charity which are close to many people's hearts, providing care and support for those whose lives and communities have been affected by cancer.
One of the ways we raise funds for Macmillian is through our immensely popular 'Coffee and Cake' afternoons - however this year, COVID has again put a halt to this hugely popular event. Nevertheless, our brilliant Ms Robertson is on hand with a very brave alternative... Ms Robertson has decided to willingly shave off her hair to raise funds for this crucial charity!!!
To support her and, more importantly, Macmillan please visit: https://bravetheshave.macmillan.org.uk/Shavers/fiona-robertson/ to make your donation.
Can you help Peter Everitt raise £1000?
Last year, Peter announced he would like to raise £1000 so Weddington Primary School could purchase new outdoor equipment. He is still determined to secure the money needed and will therefore be completing in the Sandman Triathlon.
More details can be found on the flyer CLICK HERE.
If you would like to make a donation to this amazing cause, please visit his JustGiving Crowdfunding Page: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/sandman2021?utm_term=JrJWR8mYp
Following on from the success of last year, Weddy Friends are excited to be hosting their Scarecrow Weekend again this year.
For details of how you can get involved, please see the poster here.
Good evening,
Please see below the arrangements for pick up at the end of school for Key Stage 2 children:
3KY - Dismissed from KS2 hall door.
Please do not approach or block the door.
3CM - Dismissed from the 3/4 playground .
Parents to keep the playground free to allow the children to line up safely. Please stand at the edge of the playground when collecting your child.
4DC/4LC/4BC - Dismissed from the 5/6 playground.
Parents can wait on the edge of the playground nearest the tree line to allow the 3 classes space to line up safely.
5WP/5BS - Dismissed from the 5/6 playground.
Parents can wait on the edge of the playground nearest the tree line to allow the 2 classes space to line up safely.
Home walkers will be dismissed from the 5/6 playground and will leave via the bike shed gates.
6SB/6ER - All children will be walked around to KS1 gates by class teachers to alleviate the flow of traffic as most children are home walkers.
Parents collecting any Year 6 children are asked to wait at the front of the school away from the main gates.
We hope this helps to reduce the congestion now that the one way system has been removed.
Kind regards,
KS2 teachers.
Dear Parents and Carers,
If you have already returned the letters regarding who can collect your child from school and whether they have home walker permission, this is the information we will use going forward.
If you have not yet returned these, we will continue to use last year's permissions until Friday 10th September. After this time, the children will be kept in school until someone with parental responsibility can collect from school.
Could we please therefore ask that, if you have not already returned collection / home walker permissions, that you write in to your child's teacher as a matter of urgency to express your wishes for this academic year.
If you do not have the letters regarding this which were sent out at the end of Summer term, permission can be given via a signed, hand-written letter. However, we will also send printed letters home on Monday for those who have not already informed teachers of their wishes.
Kind regards
Weddington Primary School
Good afternoon everyone!
We hope you have all had a wonderful Summer and are ready for the exciting term ahead!
School begins promptly at 8.55 this coming Monday, for everyone except those new to Reception, and ends at 3.15pm. There will be no staggered start and end times, or one-way system, but we recommend that parents continue to wear face coverings on school site when dropping off and collecting children, as per WCC guidelines (click here). The school gates will be open at 8.35am with doors opening at 8.45am. Please do not leave children unattended until they are safely inside the building.
If your child has not yet brought back the information regarding home walking/who will collect them, please make sure your new class teachers know your end of day arrangements before you leave them at school. This could be via a handwritten note if you have misplaced your form.
The holiday dates for the coming year (click here) and you will notice that we break up a day earlier in the Summer term. This is because our 'extra day off' for the Queen's platinum Jubilee falls in the half term holidays. Please ensure you mark this on your calendars as well as the other holiday and training day dates. Please also remember that we cannot authorise holidays during term time.
We really hope that this year is a step in the right direction in terms of getting back to the way things were, but we are still not quite there yet. We ask, therefore, that you are mindful and respectful of others when entering the school premises and that you try to socially distance wherever possible; it is up to all of us to keep our school community safe and ensure we do not head straight back into another lockdown now that restrictions have been lifted. More information about current guidance regarding Covid will be posted on the website over the next few days.
