The children had a fabulous day bringing maths to life and making cookies. They worked out how many children would be in a group and multiplied the ingredients to make extra dough. Then, they weighed ingredients and Here is the recipe in case you want to try them at home:
125g caster sugar
100g light brown sugar
teaspoon of vanilla extract
pinch of salt
Cream the sugar and butter together until smooth. Add a pinch of salt.
Put in the vanilla extract, egg and flour and make into a dough.
Add chocolate chips or whatever you fancy. Form the dough into a small ball and place on a baking tray with plenty of space around each ball. Cook in the oven on 160 degrees celcius and watch very carefully! Remove from oven after 10ish minutes and place directly onto a drying rack. The cookies should still be slightly soft when removed from the oven and harden as they cool. Enjoy.
Year 1 has had a fantastic time learning about the Bog Baby. They have developed their language by exploring the outdoor environment and have written 'wanted' posters to encourage a Bog Baby to come and live in our pond.
Thank you to all of the parents, grandparents and carers who came to help us to plant trees and bulbs. Bog Baby must surely want to come now!
As you can see, we had a lot of fun.
