And they're through to the NATIONAL FINALS!!!
Charlie and Lucy have once again ran amazingly to earn their place in the national cross country finals.
Lucy was the 2nd year 5 over the line and 15th overall and Charlie finished 12th overall.
Superb guys!
More outstanding running from some of our cross country superstars!
Following their qualifying race last week, Charlie, Lucy and Faye pulled out all the stops and ran some brilliant races.
Once again, Charlie's pushed hard with another sprint finish to earn himself 2nd place and a silver medal in the boys' race. An awesome, challenging run against some great runners!
Lucy improved on her already impressive last performance, also pulling out a sprint finish to earn herself 3rd place and a bronze medal in the girls' race. Even more amazing as she is only in year 5 and competed against year 5 and 6 girls.
Faye, also in year 5, shows how much she continues to improve by completing a great run and finishing in 33rd place.
Even to reach these trials is a massive achievement and they are competing against the best runners in North Warwickshire, making their results even more impressive!
Charlie and Lucy will now compete against runners from all over Warwickshire when they run for the Northern Area in the Warwickshire Primary School Cross Country Championships next Wednesday 11th March.
Good luck guys!
Once again, our cross country team ran brilliantly in testing conditions, against some amazing runners. It was freezing cold, drizzling and the ground was very wet and slippery, none the less our team were fantastic. They showed great sportsman ship in encouraging each other around the track and ran very well. After truly pulling out all of the stops, Charlie earned himself 2nd place with Lucy and Faye coming a very respectable 6th and 38th place in the girls' race. All of our guys pushed themselves to their limits and have really shown what can be achieved through hard work and determination.
We were also honoured to discover that Charlie's achievement helped Nuneaton area secure first place for boys in North Warwickshire.
On a very cold evening, over a long and hard course, our year 5 and 6 cross country runners performed fantastically.
We secured 1st in the boys' and girls' race with our girls' team also earning a 13th and 18th place. We are very proud of all of their achievements, they ran their socks off and all tried as hard as they possibly could.
Massive well done to Lucy, Scarlett, Faye, Lily, Jessica, Katie, Charlie, Farley, Jamie, Finnley, Freddie and Joe.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
