Will we be using Oak National Academy and BBC Bitesize?
Yes. Oak National Academy is an online resource bank of lessons for Reception - Y6 produced by the government. This was shared with us at school on 19.04 and launched on 20.04. Teachers are going to be looking into these resources over the next week. We know that many will be built into the online learning we share with our class on Google Classrooms, but many will not. This is because we know the content of the Oak Academy lessons will have already been taught to the children, or is planning on being covered with them in the next academic year.
From 27.04, your child's online learning will be delivered by their class teacher through Google Classrooms and will be built of a combination of lessons or videos the teachers records and delivers, BBC bitesize online or red button lessons and Oak Academy lessons. You can also expect a weekly spelling test to be recorded and online form created for each class, well-being check-ins and discussions as well as lessons delivered around the class texts and topics we had already planned for the Summer term.
Class dojo will continue to be utilised as a tool for teacher/parent communication. Class pages will continue to be utilised to give parents/carers a weekly update on the home learning we have scheduled for each week.
