Just a short note to let you know that we are going to be opening on Thursday 3rd September 2020. The new Reception intake will not start Out of Hours until they are fulltime. We have been busy reorganising the setting in order to make it safe for all children to return. Children will be placed in Year group bubbles and each bubble will have at least one member of staff allocated to it. Due to the number of the bubbles we have liaised with Mrs Kershaw and she has agreed to us using different areas of the school. This will be as follows:-
Preschool/Reception will use the Reception class entrance (RSK) for drop-off and pick up.
Year 1 will use the KS1 Computer Suite and will drop off and pick up by the Year 1 door.
Year 2 will use the Out of Hours setting and you will drop off and pick up from the usual place.
Year 3/4 will be using the KS1 hall. Drop off and pick up will be from the side door, which is on the right as you face the school Reception.
Year 5/6 will be using the KS2 hall. Drop off and pick up will be from the side door, which is on the left as you face the school Reception.
IF YOU COLLECT YOUR CHILD AFTER 5PM CHILDREN WILL BE TAKEN TO THE OUT OF HOURS SETTING AS THERE ARE USUALLY ON A FEW CHILDREN LEFT AT THIS TIME. THE CHILDREN WILL BE APPROPRIATELY SOCIALLY DISTANCED. YOU WILL THEREFORE PICK UP YOUR CHILD FROM THE USUAL OUT OF HOURS DOOR BY YEAR 2.
Please can we ask that you adhere to social distance rules when dropping off and picking up your child. We will not be able to allow anyone into the building when picking up and dropping off your child. Staff will not be able to go back to your child's classroom for anything they have left behind as there will not be surplus staff to supervise the rest of the children.
All bubbles will have handwashing and hand sanitizer facilities. Staff will have radios/mobile phones in order to be able to communicate with each other. There will be a floating first-aider available who will attend any major first-aid incidents. All other first-aid requirements will be addressed by the member of staff in the bubble, who will have appropriate first-aid equipment. We have carried out a risk assessment and feel we are able to offer a safe environment for your children to return to the club. Due to the current situation we will be offering snacks that will need little preparation and will use pre-packed food as much as possible. Breakfast will have to be limited to a cereal bar and fruit juice for the time being. This is because some of the areas being used for the bubbles do not have food preparation areas available.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience at this very unusual time. We look forward to meeting your children on 1st September 2020. Thank you.
Stephanie King
Manager
Weddington Primary School is fortunate enough to have a fabulous out of school facility within the school building run by highly qualified, dedicated staff. This is a separately run Out of Hours facility and does not belong to the Primary School. There is a Breakfast and After School Club operating during term-time from 7.30 a.m. – 8.50 a.m. and again from 3.15 p.m. – 5.45 p.m. During the sessions children are served with drinks and breakfast in the morning and healthy snacks in the afternoon session. We also take children aged 3+ from Weddington Preschool (please speak to Preschool staff if you require further information.
The club prides itself in providing a safe, fun and caring environment for children attending Weddington Primary School. We offer a good choice of indoor and outdoor activities for a range of ages, including arts and crafts, cooking, a gardening club, sports, table tennis and a homework/computer club.
At our last Ofsted inspection we were given the highest grade for Out of Hours Clubs 'Met'. Please see our recent Ofsted report under the document section of the page.
If you require further information please contact Stephanie King, Manager, on 07952 323245 or alternatively email weddingtonoutofhours@live.co.uk
For those of you who have been offered a school place for your child in Reception this year and are wanting information about the Out of Hours childcare facility. Due to the unforeseen circumstances that COVID 19 has brought us, we are currently closed, until it is safe to re-open. However, please feel free to message us on our email address:- weddingtonoutofhours@live.co.uk if you are interested in places for your child once they start school. We will be sending out relevant paperwork to register your child at the club in the near future. Thank you for your interest in the club.
Every Thursday from 3.30 until 4.30 pm, we offer a sports session which is conducted by a fully trained sports coach from Nuneaton and Bedworth Leisure Trust. The children have great fun during these sessions and they play many team games and are continually learning new skills. If your child does not attend OHC on a Thursday evening and you would like them to take part in the activities, please speak to a member of staff to book them into the sessions.
At Weddington Primary Out of Hours Club we offer Yoga/Mindfullness classes to children who are registered with Out of Hours. We have a wonderful instructor Joanne Thomas, who is fully trained in children's yoga. If you wish your child to attend the sessions, and they are not booked into OHC on a Tuesday, please feel free to ask a member of staff to book them in. We have received positive feedback on the sessions and children are thoroughly enjoying the classes.
Please note if you wish to book your child into Out of Hours, please ring the Out of Hours telephone number and not the school office. As a reminder you can leave a text message on 07952 323245 or leave a voice message if the setting is closed.
Weddington Primary Out of Hours Club can provide this care. We can deliver your child to Pre-School in the morning and collect them at 3.15pm.
For further details please contact Stephanie King at Out of Hours or Natalie Gudgeon at Pre-School

Out of Hours are thrilled to announce the result and share the full report of our recent Ofsted inspection.
The grading has changed under the new framework.
The categories are now:-
We are incredibly happy to share that we achieved the highest grading of 'Met' (doesn’t sound as grand as the old Outstanding - but equates to the same).
Myself and the Committee are over joyed with the content of the report.
