What is the Eco Council (Green Team)?
The Eco Council (Green Team) is a group of children consisting of one pupil from each class from Year 1 – Year 6. Reception will join in the Spring term.
The aim of the Eco Council is to help the school develop as an Eco School. We hope to complete tasks that will result in the school gaining the Green Flag award which is an internationally recognised award for excellence in environmental action and learning.
Last year the Eco Council (Green Team) looked at recycling and composting in school, they took part in an assembly and a workshop presented by Warwickshire Waste Management team. Each class was given a food caddy to use, this food waste is then deposited into the compost bins and will eventually be used by the gardening club. The children also presented an assembly on Fair Trade.
This year the main focus will be working on tasks towards gaining the Green Flag award.
Please visit this page regularly to check on the awards progress and any other exciting activities that may have taken place.
