Dear Parents and Carers

Following careful checks of the local conditions early this morning, including road safety and access to the school site, we have made the difficult decision to close Weddington Primary School today, Friday 9 January, due to snowfall and ongoing icy conditions.

As always, the safety of our children, families and staff must come first. While we know the weather can change quickly, current conditions around the school and surrounding roads mean that it would not be safe for everyone to travel in today.

We appreciate that school closures can be inconvenient, and this decision is never taken lightly. Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support — it really is appreciated.

Please take care if you do need to travel today, and keep warm. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will communicate clearly with you regarding arrangements for reopening. However, it seems that we will be open but we're will confirm.
