On 14th November our year 5/6 cross country team competed at the Pingles Stadium.
We were over the moon with their outstanding achievements! Huge congratulations to the whole team for obvious improvements to their personal bests. We couldn't be prouder of the fantastic support and team spirit shown by all our runners.
Special mentions to Megan who came in 9th place and Edie for coming 11th in the girls race and to Charlie for coming 5th and Harry for coming 18th in the boys race.
Their achievements mean we will be taking 4 strong contenders through to the next round. Wow!
On Thursday 8th November Ella, Jennifer, Chloe, Elisha, Lacey, Edie, Olivia, Jessica and Will all played their final match of the league.
They arrived at The Pingles, stretched and then got straight in to their first match. It was Wembrook, they tried as hard as they could but at the end, the score was 0-0.
Next was Croft and BOOM - Weddy won 8-0. Ella scored a brilliant 5 goals, Edie later scored 2 more goals and in the 2nd half, Jess scored a goal.
After that was Michael Drayton but this match was unfair. Will scored 2 goals then later on Chloe scored but the goal didn't count. At the end Weddy lost 2-3.
Milverton was next and they had some good defenders but our shooters were better. Ella then scored 3 times. At the end it was 3-3.
Their final match was against St Nics, it was an extremely close match but we managed to win 2-1 thanks to Will and Olivia's goals.
Weddington ended up 4th on the leader board but played amazingly. Miss Young is very proud of all of them.
Well done Weddy!

Well done to the Year 5 netball team who came 3rd in the localschools competition.
On the 20th March, our children competed against schools from accross the borough. We couldn't be prouder of the effort shown by all of our runners - they all ran brilliantly! Well done, especially to our girls' team, who achieved a very respectable 2nd place, and HUGE congratulations to Charlie from Year 4 who finished 1st!
We played our first under 11's league match against St Joseph's at home.
After an end to end opening, St Josephs took the lead after one of their forwards picked up the rebound from a great save from Sam. After falling behind we quickly fell further behind and conceded 2 more quick goals, 3.0 down.
Weddington had a number of chances before half time, Charlie having a shot that went just wide of the post and Joe having a shot cleared off the line.
After half time Weddington had plenty of possession and battled, never giving up and Will scored two great goals, one a header from a corner and another a one on one chance against the goalie which he put away well.
Weddington were playing really well and St Josephs goalie was having a brilliant 2nd half saving well a number of times. We were running out of time for the equaliser with us pushing forward St Joseph's broke away and their forward scored an excellent goal for the match to finish 4.2
As a school we were extremely proud of the Weddington performance and team spirit, at no point did the players heads drop. Well done!
